I’ve been working on a novel about what happened in my small town nearly 150 years ago when some doctors got the bright idea to illegally autopsy the fairly fresh buried corpse of a town laborer, while under the influence of quite a lot of whiskey. The consequences reverberated, though few remember the story here now.
